In the last several years there have been heavy attacks upon the drag and transgender community based on complete non-sense. Claiming they are trying to groom kids, change them into something else against their will, and convince them into believing they are something they are not.

The only people I’ve ever had try to do anything like that with me are the religious. Let’s add to the fact child abuse is rampant from religious leaders

What some people don’t understand is that drag is a performance art, and is a form of self expression. Also, drag doesn’t have to be feminine nor does it have to be masculine. It’s what you are comfortable with and how you want to express yourself. You can also be bright and colorful, or dark and moody. That’s all up to you.

And besides, we’ve all been entertained by drag, from Bugs Bunny cartoons to live action shows and movies. In fact there was a time centuries ago during stage shows where women were played by men, because it was illegal for women to perform.

As for being trans I used to believe it was something along the lines of a man’s brain in a woman’s body and vise versa. But I asked some trans friends about it to try understanding further only to learn that it’s far more complicated than that. It’s also not about removing or implanting anything as some people claim. It’s about feeling comfortable with who you are. Or at least that’s the best I can explain it in so few words.

The continued attacks on the drag, trans, and over all LGBTQ+ community are entirely meant to push fear and force obedience. And there has never been a sociality that fell because of its acceptance of people with different sexualities or those who are gender non-conforming. The opponents of the queer community want genocide, simply put, and they have a whole lot of other targets bring their vision of purity.

Let people be who they are and what they are comfortable with. Allow them to have their own individuality, it’s not hurting you or anyone else, and it’s not showing weakness of any kind. And if you can’t stand seeing other people happy, that’s your problem.
