Baby Bunny
The day after Halloween, I was taking care of some stuff at my place, and I notice something in the drive way. I thought it was a dead mouse and was like “oh, poor thing” then saw it was moving. I got a closer look and realized it was a rabbit. Not even a week old. This wasn’t even near where a nest would have been, so there is no way it could have gotten there on its own, and adult rabbits can’t carry their young around.
So I made a couple of calls to find some kind of wildlife rescue place and talked to this one lady that helps rabbits. I told her I found a baby rabbit and she was like, “your kidding? Rabbit breeding season is over.” So she gave me a location to meet up at, handed it over and said “that’s a bunny.” Turns out rabbit breeding season ends in august, but because of how hot this year has been I think they might have kept going till it started to cool off a month ago.
I feel better knowing it’s in a safer place. Because well, I have dogs and cats.
