Gnarly Wrap Job

While on reddit before Christmas I saw a couple of albums posted of some really crazy wrap jobs people did to their siblings just to be annoying, and told my sister about it because I thought it was funny. So then she decided to do that to me. This year I didn’t really ask for much, in fact I think all I asked for was for some new batteries for my SLR being I only have one left thats any good. But what I got was a pair of warm socks that would be useful for something later, this cover below and I’m currently waiting for the iPad that goes with the cover but it was ordered a little to late to be at my place for Christmas.

so, can’t wait.

LA Santa Con ’12

So the day started like any other and… no not really. I was on my way to the first stop in Culver City Taking the Expo Line over in order to meet with the santas at two very near by locations just down the street and have breakfast. One Location was the The Culver Hotel and the other was the Rush Street Cafe. I found a near by Chipotle and ate there, and some other santas did the same thing. So after about maybe an hour and a half we gathered up and jumped on the Expo Line to head to our next location. Expo Park. The main place of Interest was the Science Center where the santas would get to see the Space Shuttle that I saw going up Crenshaw 2 months before. While many were looking at the shuttle others where either in the front taking part of the group shoot or in back playing around the Fountain in the Rose Garden.

After we were done with Expo Park we started heading off to our next place of interest in Downtown at the Westin Bonaventure were we partied it out more on the outdoor patio area and had a Punk Band play Christmas songs for us. Mosh Pit in all. After the Bonaventure we headed towards Hollywood and took the Red Line to Hollywood and Vine and walked over to 3 different spots, Velvet Margarita, District 13, and where I was around most during that time, St. Felix and we hung around other places in between. After that it was my time to head home. Hopped on the subway and made my way.

and as they say, nothing better then hanging with Santa all day

Pasadena Briefing

So earlier this week I got word of some kind of confidential event going on were they only want select members to know about, and of course we found out about it and crashed the party. We found very few scientologists going in, so not sure if they had some kind of other secret entrance, everyone was really set to be there later then the given time or scientology is just over all dying. Tony Ortega came by with a little crew and we had a strange camera war with PI dudes that came out to record us. It rained most of the time we were there but we could take it…

Because we are just that awesome.

LA Zombie Walk ’12

Not much to describe on what happened during the event. Went to the North Hollywood station, got there at about 3:30 where some people have already gathered and doing the finishing touches with blood and make-up. So during the time being the forces continued to gather around the station and at 4:50 we all went underground to take the subway to Hollywood and Highland. After dropping off we all went up stairs and started walking towards Vine, then we just walked back over to Highland. Thats it really. Oh, and we scared a bunch of people and give them some good laughs.

So many zombies, and me without my swords.

Endeavor

So I finally got to see it for myself. It was almost unreal, amazing. So here is how it went down. Before I left my place I questioned to myself “should I bring my rollerblades? they are a bit heavy when being carried around when off and not sure I would need them much. And the bus should drop me close enough anyways so I should be good.” What the plan was I had in mind was get to this mall by Crenshaw and MLK Blvd before 2 because thats when Endeavor would be there by and sit for a half hour before taking off again. I got there before 1:30 so I figured it would make some sense to walk down the street some to see on the way and there would also be fewer people blocking my view.

I walked down Crenshaw for over 3 miles to get to a point just a block or two from Florence because one part of the side walk was so full of people I couldn’t get any further, but I did see it coming in form the distance… VERY, SLOWLY! So slowly it was in fact maybe over 2 hours behind schedule and will be very late. So I found myself a nice little spot, and waited as it come by. That was the coolest thing. After that, in order to head back home I had to walk through some neighborhood so I can get ahead of the shuttle again and not have to go through so much of a crowd back to the expo line station.

Yeah, it was better to leave the rollerblades behind.

CicLAvia 10.7.12 Photos

So, that was a lot of fun, went down on my blades, took a bunch of photos, talked to people, and got free stuff. For example I got a button and a bag for We Want Streetcar which is a campaign could be the return of street cars here, or at least in Downtown. The guys I saw during the stair claim at the bank tower with the Amazon Coconut Water were there. One of them saw me and remembered my name along with the fact I posted on here that I gave a buddy of mine the bottle that was given to me before, so I didn’t have a chance to try it. So he gave me two of them and I downed one of them right there. I thought it was good. The other one is also now gone. Also got a flyer from a Derby Doll for a coming match, Fight Crew and Varsity Brawlers. I was at a game awhile back, it was a little strange but interesting and I really liked the environment. And I loved the names they have for the teams and the players. Personally I wouldn’t mind seeing another game, but I much prefer if it was cheaper and if it would be cool if they would let me bring my camera in because I would get some good shots.

But yes, I had a very long ride I did hitting up all the hubs. here is what it looked like.

Eighteen point six miles… I did well. Didn’t like that it was a little warmer then I expected but I made due.

But next time, I’m wearing shorts.
