Ru Paul’s DragCon ’24 – Day 1 – Part 1

Oh wow this year was so good. What made it better for me is the fact that even thought I’ve been going to this con for years, I never had the chance to watch Ru Paul’s Drag Race. But there was a weird reason behind it. I have wanted to watch it before for some reason the streaming services the show was on didn’t have all the seasons. I remember Hulu missing the first few, but with luck I found the first two on Pluto. I also watched what was available on Hulu when I got there, All seasons are on Paramount, but not 16 right now, so waiting on that. I’m glad I finally got to watch because I feel like I got know the queens so much better before seeing everyone again.

But one queen I wanted to meet with, Ongina from season one. The reason is because after winning a main change for the week involving bring awareness to HIV/AIDS, she broke down and come out about living with the virus for the pass two years. All I could think of is that I want to jump through the screen and give her a hug. And it happened this day. She also announced this was going to be her last Dragcon, and is going to take a break from drag. But what’s really funny is she recognized me from taking photos of her before.
