San Fernando Valley Pride ’24
Sadly, I didn’t get to goto San Francisco Pride this year. I had no one to make the trip with I’ll try again next year. But a couple of days before I found about this one in Van Nuys. I knew it wasn’t going to be as big as Long Beach, but was better then one I went to in Pasadena years ago, known as San Gabriel Valley Pride. It started off as a rally along Van Nuys blvd, then a march down to Van Nuys City Hall, where we pretty much took over the court yard for a block party. There booths and other vendors, a stage were music and drag performers.
Saw some friends of mine there from Qweerty Gamers, and hung out with some goats from Party Goats LA. I was petting them a lot. There were also a some protesters there. There was a group hanging at the entrance, who eventually left, then there was one guy walking around with a flag saying “He has Risen” and handed out those fake dollar bills of Christ. Oh, and State Senator Caroline Menjivar handed out free popsicles during the march. That was nice to have since it got hot there. Up to the high 80’s. Over all, it was small, but glad I got out, I needed that.
