Smilodon

Recently I was at the Tar Pits with the family and a couple of friends. Baby girl seemed to have liked the place. She played with a mammoth bone that was out that we were encouraged to touch. There was also a 20 minute 3D movie we saw towards the end. She did good, watched it making some happy sounds then ended up going to sleep as I held her.

But anyways, the reason we were there is because the museum will be closing early July for 2 years and we wanted to get there before that happened. The reason, they are expanding the place. In fact the museum is in the middle of a park that is also an active dig site so they have a lot of stuff in back they want to display. And I’m pretty sure they want it done before the Olympics are here in LA too. Because athletes from around the world will want to see what we have to offer here, and some of there things are our museums.
