Day 3, much like the day before, I was going as Loki. Seemed bit hotter that day to, and my poor shoulders from carrying my back pack around. I need to figure something new out about that. I got there a bit earlier then the day before to so that felt nice.
Day started off lame, I had some unforeseen delays, and get here kind of late in the day. I felt kind of drained till a friend of mine spotted me and we talked shortly. After that I found myself feeling pretty good and became charged up. Nothing really different happened during my time there but it was all good still.
So, that was an entertaining ride. I started the day picking up something a friend borrowed for a cosplay she had planned on doing for another con at the begging of the year but didn’t fall through. Oh well. It was hot out, so getting inside felt rather nice. And the lines to pick up badges were given a lot of praise because of how fast they went by.
Pretty much one thing that bothered me the entire time was the fact I didn’t see many of my friends there, and not sure why. But on day one I took off a bit early, but during the time there, i got a nice bunch of photos. So behold.
Yeah, I kind of took awhile to put these up. But they are online now. I was there for a day as black tie Loki. It has been about a year since I was last doing this cosplay and I stopped for the time being because my hair was to long to pull it off anymore. Glad I got to do it again. And I should start crediting those who took the photos, or at least who it came from.
Though I was only there for a day, and for so much of it, I enjoyed it. Got lots of nice photos of people being their entertaining selves.
Sadly, don’t seem to have much to talk about. I know I missed out on a lot still because I kept wandering around some of the same areas over and over. Also, I was dressed as Loki so if I am able to find photos, I’ll post them up.
Second, and last day. It started off kind of slow, I’m guessing some people where still asleep from other partying they where doing last night. I was talking to a couple of different cosplayers and asked if they slept well themselves and said they didn’t. I told they if they want to can sneak themselves a nap real quick if they will help. I think I got 5 hours the night before myself but still felt rather charged myself for the day. I had fun, Got some more photos and had a nice laugh getting some of them.
It was also cold while outside, but luckily I was going as Neo from the Matrix that day so I had my coat on me helping to keep me warm. Though the costume would of been better if I had some proper sunglasses on me. I also wanted to borrow some guns from another friend of mine planning to join that day but she wasn’t available to. I’m not going to worry, I can pull it off some other time. And last there where some people outside handing out bottles of this brand of soda, Jarritos, which I believe I have tried out before, it’s a mexican soda, and it was really good. Wow. That kind of thing should happen more often. Luckily I got a second bottle.
I am now back home from that party. I really enjoined that. And with further experimentation with my camera I took a lot of photos that I’m actually pretty happy with. I felt something might off been wrong with me because I wasn’t liking how my photos were coming out on my old camera. I don’t know.
It’s a rather small con, I was there as Timmy Turner on the first day, and I’m always kind of surprised how many people like it. Plus I’ve been feeling a bit down lately, but after this I feel kind of revitalized.
After I was done with the Flashmob sunday, I heard there was also a convention going on at a nearby hotel, that I walked over a mile for in warmer weather then it should be for this time of year. Gallifrey One, which is a Doctor Who convention. Though I don’t actively watch the show, I have seen it from time to time and it’s interesting to say the least. I might want to actually try to sit down and start watching it properly. I was there shortly and it was the last day so I did have a chance to get a few photos in and what came out I’m happy with.
It’s a problem I occasional hear about in the cosplay community. When people goto cons, that want to enjoy themselves, get some attention and to try promoting themselves. But then you have those guys that come in and have an intent thats rather more messed up. I’ve seen a video once where a guy had a go-pro camera on his chest and would record himself hugging some of the female cosplayers. After that video came out a lot of people were talking about beating the person up and at entire time I kept talking about how there is a better way to solve the problem and have a nice laugh at it. I just wish more people would listen to me.
