Wondercon ’14 Photos
I went down sunday, I wanted to do so on saturday to but one of the people that wanted to join me had a rather busy morning so that ended up becoming a bust. When I got there I hung around outside and hung with some friends of mine there and then went in to get some more stuff.
While inside I meet some interesting new people like Samwise Didier, Art Director at Blizzard and he posts some of his other work on Sons of the Storm. I shook his hand and took him that I enjoy his work. I also asked him it was possible to relay to the warcraft team to add a new foods item in the next WoW expansion to be stuff like tacos or pizza. He said something about murloc tacos which was good.
I also got some little flyers and cards from people for comics like Empire of the Wolf. It was described to be, if I can remember correctly, if Rome was a society of werewolves and uses the story of Romulus and Remus and the mythological story of them being raised by wolves as a base. That’s just crazy enough to be interesting. Also came across a couple of guys with the Doomhammer and he turns out they were promoting their music and they have one of the strangest videos I’ve seen. Wow, I just realized I didn’t talk to all that many people, because last thing that happened was as I was taking off I had a guy stop me, hand me a flyer for something and take of photo of me with it. It was for the up and coming VideoGames Live concert in june. I’ve actually gone to that before at the Hollywood Bowl years ago and I rather enjoyed it. And if you buy a ticket use the pre-sale code “WONDER” as says the flyer I have.
CicLAvia 4.6.14
Once again, I ride down Wilshire on my blades. I didn’t get an many photos as other CicLAvia events before for some reason but still had some fun. My feet were also killing me during that. As always, I got to see the Derby Dolls again which is always nice because I like them. Also during the day I had some kid come up to me on his rollerblades and handed me a card for Friday Night Skate which I have been given before, just need to find some time to do that.
I also ran into someone else I know during the event at the LACBC tent with a friend of hers that got hit on his bike while riding it and lost his leg. Right now his goal is to, Finish the Ride. I admire his spirit. Though I know what it’s like to nearly get hit by a car because it’s happened to me at least a hand full of times while in the cross walk, one time I had to do some kind of mad gymnastics like skills to save myself, but what happened to him is far messed up and I really wish there was a better way to find the people to commit hit and run.
Last I went by some person giving out samples of, well, I think they called it, Açai. Well, what ever it was I liked it a lot. It was from this place called Ubatuba and they gave me a bunch of little spoon fuels. Yeah, I like it that much.
LA Pillow Fight ’14
Update, now the story: The entire event wasn’t as big as I thought it would of been, I know last year it was announced the day before and this year it was only a few days before.
Anywho, I get there rather early and decided to walk around downtown for a little bit, use the wifi at the Central Library shortly, then I went over to Little Tokyo knowing some of my cosplay friends would be there to hang with them for a bit before it all went down. So I got to Pershing Square about 15 minutes before it was suppose to start and I didn’t really notice anyone till a minute to two late I saw a group of people setting up their camera equipment. I talked to them for a bit then I started noticing some other people coming in with pillows finally, but there where so few.
Park security saw us gathering, came up and talked to us saying that there is no permit for anything going on and we ended up pulling it off anyways. They called LAPD, some officers came and basically said “this is what you called us for? who cares? just let them.” After we were done the collection of feathers started and during it one of the cops come up to us about cleaning it up. I informed him that we are taking care of it and the rest that we can’t get the birds will take away. Soon after I see birds fly down and were getting to work. That was fast.
I hung around for a bit longer and saw some pillows got left behind and noticed some people sleeping in the park, so I brought over pillows and put them next to each person I saw figuring that would be something nice to have. I then took one more pillow with me to see my friends in Little Tokyo again and start beating them with it saying “you jerks missed out when I have been taking about this for weeks!” As I got off the Red Line from Union Station I saw a homeless girl with a sign and just figured she would of needed that for herself and thanked me for it. I knew I should of got a second pillow. I knew I should of got a second pillow.
That’s a Hom… or maybe not
So I guess a new season of some other form of sport ball has started up. Well lets just hope these people make a lot of baskets in the end zone.
GolfKon’s Charity March Match-Play Madness ’14
So, this Happened. Rather exciting game and we raised a bunch of money for it. I’ll post the video from the guy that held the event later when it’s online. There was also a free throw competition to act as a tie breaker at one point.
Mr. Money Bag
This guy has to have the coolest backpack I’ve seen. Would of been less blur if I wasn’t also in a car that was just starting to move again but I let him know, his bag was awesome.
