Also known as Chinaman’s Hat Island. I’m not kidding. I often tell people I was born in Hawaii, which is true, but grew up here in California. But my mom, she was born in California but grew up in Hawaii, so she knows the names all of these places well, along with common terms most often heard on the islands. She’s the reason I know about this stuff, even thought I’ve only spent a total of a few years there. Most I have no memory of.
