Day 3, much like the day before, I was going as Loki. Seemed bit hotter that day to, and my poor shoulders from carrying my back pack around. I need to figure something new out about that. I got there a bit earlier then the day before to so that felt nice.
Well, really not much to take about, so here is the next set. One more to go. And a few videos.
Day started off lame, I had some unforeseen delays, and get here kind of late in the day. I felt kind of drained till a friend of mine spotted me and we talked shortly. After that I found myself feeling pretty good and became charged up. Nothing really different happened during my time there but it was all good still.
So here is day 2. Don’t worry, the rest of the craziness is coming.
So, that was an entertaining ride. I started the day picking up something a friend borrowed for a cosplay she had planned on doing for another con at the begging of the year but didn’t fall through. Oh well. It was hot out, so getting inside felt rather nice. And the lines to pick up badges were given a lot of praise because of how fast they went by.
Pretty much one thing that bothered me the entire time was the fact I didn’t see many of my friends there, and not sure why. But on day one I took off a bit early, but during the time there, i got a nice bunch of photos. So behold.
After I was done with the Flashmob sunday, I heard there was also a convention going on at a nearby hotel, that I walked over a mile for in warmer weather then it should be for this time of year. Gallifrey One, which is a Doctor Who convention. Though I don’t actively watch the show, I have seen it from time to time and it’s interesting to say the least. I might want to actually try to sit down and start watching it properly. I was there shortly and it was the last day so I did have a chance to get a few photos in and what came out I’m happy with.
Well, the internet did go crazy after this got online. Personally, I don’t like Kim Kardashian, never really did. At first I didn’t care about her, figured she would just go away soon after people started talking about her but nope, I still hear about what she is up to and it’s difficult to avoid.
Now I’m sure as anyone checking this page would know, there have been a number of other people that have photoshopped the original photo. Many of them funny, and even buzzfeed got in on it with some of the guys form the site doing a shot of themselves doing the same thing. Well, as I can only say, I really hope she just goes away. Also, so many adjustment layers.
EXTREME! A friend of mine (who happens to be asian) posted the image on the left, basically saying she needs to step up her game. I then took the photo of myself on the right, with my feet of course.
And my last convention of the year is now over. What was interesting was not just when the event started for the day, 12 noon, but when on late, 2am. It was fun becomes I’ve never been early to a con. Thought it was small, I did seem to notice there was quite the number of things going on, panels, that I went to two of them. There was also a stage set up a cellist, reading, other musical reformists, figure drawings, photoshoots, and striptease acts. Always something to keep everyone entertained. There was also a room that showed movies, and other with karaoke. I wanted to go up and sing Metallica, but, for some strange reason didn’t. They also had an area set up for board games. I was thinking, and hoping there would be consoles set up, but it’s still a small con so that still was rather popular.
I was there for day 2 and 3. on day 2 I did get a lot of stuff, but not so much on the last day because there wasn’t much else to get and I was only there for 3 hours. I had to take off early. Over all I did enjoy myself, and I wold go again next year. Perhaps I can convince other friends of mine to join in. Also, Retired Wonder Woman is awesome.
Now to wait for Santacon and for the year to end. This could take awhile.
Day 3 started off with meeting a friends of mine going as Nathan Explosion from Metalocalypse and me as Toki Wartooth. He has been wanting to see me go as Toki for sometime now and I just had the sudden chance to do so. we also took a photo together as that for internet meme reasons, which I’m sure the image will go no where once posted anyways. Got a bunch more photos, some video of some of the more insane religious people protesting being trolled, and video of the Giant Creature. Very cool.
On the last day it started off with seeing a few people with their anti-abortion signs and I was kind of annoyed with that so I decided to troll one of them. No video of that sadly. Then she called me swine, then lied about it saying she was just quoting the bible. Lame. I didn’t spend to much day at the con because I had to leave a bit early and take the train back up, and was delayed by two hours.
And on a further sad note, yesterday I found out a friend of mine was attacked and left bloody saturday night. She is currently in the hospital and slowly recovering but I would like more info if anyone has any reported to the police.
Angels Flight here in LA. I’ve actually been in it before during the Dapper Day on the Subway event I joined in last year.
