Running of the Clowns ’15

We will be getting in Pasadena again, and I’ll be taking photos. If you wish to join feel free as a clown or a runner. If you decide to be a clown, you are asked to be something fun, nothing scary.

Oh, and did you all see the new Star Wars Trailer. Two months left till it comes out. So excited.

I can not express this enough…

I hear all kinds of claims about all kinds of people. All it does is fuel hatred and some people don’t even take the time to confirm it. Things like the muslim prayer curtains, which is outright bogus. And another about one of Mitt Romney’s sons that I heard about in 2012 which didn’t sound right to me. No, I don’t agree with the guy on a number of issues but I do believe in honesty.

Or the claim about Ann Coulter saying she doesn’t think women should have the right to vote. Wait, hold on, I did hear her say that, a few yards in front of me during the debate she was in during Politican. And something about one vote per household. I should know someone with video of that.

Politicon ’15 Photos – Day 2

Second and last day, on a saturday. It was rather confusing to me since I’m used to con going on during the whole weekend so I kept thinking through out the day it was sunday. Still a little messed up with that but day 2 at least was a bit crazier. First there was a live interview with Edward Snowden via satellite from, where ever he is done by the Yes Men. Next was a live show by a comedy group known as the Founding Fathers. Oh, boy, they did music, dance, and well, You’ll see video of that later. While walking around more I saw Michelle Bachmann, and she is really little. Soon after before going into Lol-itics panel, which was on using comedy in politics with one of the co-creators of The Daily Show, being a part of it.

As the day was slowly coming to an end their was two more events I was looking forward to most. One was the debate between Ann Coulter and Cenk Uygur. It was rather entertaining, more so on how Cenk made fun of Ann, who her seem just seems so hateful of a person. She mentioned something during it involving immigration called, peasants culture, saying those people coming in, with crime, rape, and drugs, that are making things worse for everyone. Seems completely wrong to me since I find these people are just trying to make a better life for themselves and their families. Last during the Q&A I wanted to say two things to Ann, first if she was cold, because she wasn’t wearing a whole lot and the room was freezing. Second, I wanted to correct her about a claim made with Obama about getting our troops out of Iraq (which I don’t think we should of been there in the first place) that the agreement on when to to get our forces out by was signed while Bush was still in office, but didn’t get the chance to. The last question went to one girl, whose family came from Afghanistan, her grandfather was Ph.D, came to the US for an education and when he went back, the Soviets came down and killed him. People like Ann don’t seem to understand that Afghanistan was doing very well before then, and was rather westernized. If you ask me, she rocked Coulter.

Finally was the stand up act with Trevor Noah, the new host of The Daily Show, I did not get to see the act in person, but did get to see him interviewed by James Carville. Still pretty good.

Once again, not a lot of photo, but a lot happening still that was rather informative and I enjoyed it. Till next year.

Politicon ’15 Photos – Day 1

Alright, the first set are online. This was a two day event at the convention center starting on friday. It started kind of late in the day to, at 2 in the afternoon. How I found out about it was while listening to pandora and they had an ad play and one of the things that was mentioned was that there will be cosplayers. One I idea I thought of was the ex-presidents in the movie Point Break, because that would be funny. I’m sure there would of been other ideas to and seemed they did want some cosplayers to join and perhaps get them interested in politics which I don’t see as a bad thing.

Typically when at a con I go around all over the place to take photos, I think this is the first time I actually went into panels with some kind of interest. First thing I checked over, that I did’t know was going to be there was, The Art if Politics section with many political motivated art made by all kinds of people from a number of different views. No one was safe and I kind of liked that because it shows no bias. Then I went to a panel called, Mother, Mother, Mother. On it was the mothers of Michael Brown and Jordan Davis, both of which I got to hug and I enjoyed that because I felt they needed that for what they have gone through for over a year now.

After I went into Ballot Pong, held by See Political to also help explain the process in creating a ballot and getting it across. Also about how crazy some of them can be. There is some video coming of that, with another with me speaking and kind of bumbling. Not sure how that happened. Last was a panel on religious freedom with Clay Aiken on it who has been active in a political sense for some time now. After I kind of just wandered around and during the time saw the restroom signs put up. That was pretty good.

No, not a lot of photos, but I kind of felt there was a lot to talk about. If I can also find video of some panels I was at I’ll post those to along with mine.

LA Zombie Walk ’15

With Politicon now over, some photos taken, and I think a nice amount of video, I would say I enjoyed myself. I was entertained and informed of some good stuff. I’ll post more on that during the week, but for now I just want to share another upcoming event in the area that I’m also excited for. The Zombie Walk in Hollywood. Whats really cool is they used one of my photos from last year to make the flyer.
