LA SantaCon ’13 Photos

So FINALLY they are online. Yesterday I was doing a short video shoot with some friends of mine of something I’ve been wanting to do for some time which will be online later because I still have some other things to do with it. And now for the story of the day. I started off meeting with a friend of mine by her place around North Hollywood, while I was dressed in what I called myself a Dark Elf, and took the red line over to Union Station. Along the way we found other santas jumping on from other station to the start of the main event. After reaching Union we jumped on the gold line and ended to East LA and made it to our destination, El Mercadito Mariachi. Where they had food, drinks, and Mariachi band playing for us. It was great.

Then off to our next location, Chinatown, where we hung around the Bruce Lee statute and acted even more weird around the place, had people stop us to take photos and everything. Our third location was LACMA where we played around the lights, the front of the museum and even wondered around the nearby Tar Pits. From there it was starting to get dark and then we went to Rage in West Hollywood. I’ve walked by that place many times during Halloween, Pride, maybe during a rally or two and some other non-event related moment where I just happen to be in the area. We all went in and really took over the dance floor.

After that it was time for me to head home. I found it nice not only seeing everyone again, even if it is only once a year but there were some people that keep seeing me and said I’ve taken so many photos of them before that they wanted one with me. So hopefully I’ll get to find some of those and I’ll post them up here.

And I hope to see you santas again, not just next year but maybe during some other event going on during the year.

Million Mask March ’13

Something I learned about just after halloween from a friend of mine. I got some more info and found it was taking place in downtown at first in Pershing Square, then City Hall and also walked around Little Tokyo some. The police hung around and escorted us during our walked, they didn’t seem to mind at all. I did try to add some humor in the rally and a few other people joined me in it but something that kind of bugged me was some segment of it was about promoting some guy and his weed… lame. And after more walking to a really weird circle I got bored and took off. Still strange what started as something against scientology has changed so much.

Comikaze ’13 Photos

So this weekend I decided I should head down to the convention center and check out the event going on. I was there friday for like 2 hours and I also headed down saturday for the afternoon and evening. On sunday (today) I decided to stay home to take care of some other things here. Now something I discovered during the event going on was some recording of the show Heroes of Cosplay and I met Victoria Schmidt and Jinyo Hui who were on the show and told them “you know I keep watching it and thinking, why am I doing this to myself?” I also met The Defuser, Parthenon, and Lemuria from the show Who wants to be a Superhero? in which I didn’t know they would be there. Not as big as Anime Expo but still a lot of stuff going on.

If only I joined in the last day.

Halloween Mini-Golf

So yesterday morning I posted on my facebook page asking if anyone knows of anything going on during the weekend and one friend of mine let me know of a little mini golf course and tournament another friend of his is holding, because he made a course in his backyard and asked if I would be willing to join. I figured why not and I also debuted my costume there but noticed I didn’t have any photos of myself taken during that. Oh well, I can still show off to the lot of you for when the day comes.

Oh, I also played some but didn’t get to far in the tournament.

LA Water Balloon Fight ’13

So I had an interesting day of which I did more then I expected. It started off helping a women break a $20 bill so she can get on the bus, and another guy from out of state getting near LAX, and getting something that will be part of my halloween costume for this year over at the fashion district in Downtown. So while in downtown I get to a wifi spot and decide to check my internets some and get a reminder of the water balloon fight going on in Van Nuys, a long with a location on where. I also saw the event was starting at 2, and it was already 2 so I figured head over anyways and see if I can catch anything still. I get there just over an hour later to see nothing had really started yet, and I’m very happy about this because I can see I can still get some photos out of this, and so I did. Afterwards some of us hung out and mealed.

This should be done again but also using water guns.

LA MP3 Experiment

So this happened. before the whole thing started an audio file is posted online for us to download and put on what ever mp3 player we have and follow instructions given we did a lot of weird things like dance, play tag and take short power naps. All ending off with the bubble finally and cupcakes.
