Well, here are the rest of the photos from day one. Not much else to talk about since i’m pretty sure i about covered it in the first post. Well, a friend was the lead guy for a spiderman gathering, and asked me to take some photos form that. I did.
Yeah, I got a lot of photos that day. The morning was kind of miserable for me because the Tracer I was going with had to take her gun back to where we were staying because, no guns, prop, toy or anything. I took it back myself and it was still morning by the time I was at the convention center again. As the day went on it was going better. And even thought many people that would have been there were at Dragoncon this weekend, I got plenty still. So much, I decided to split day 1 photos into 2 posts.
So here is part one of day one from this party this weekend.
A little adventure I had on saturday, I didn’t get much in photos, but did get plenty in prizes. I’ll post about that they were in another post, with video. for now, it is getting kind of late, and had quite a weekend, so i’m tired. Also excited about Long Beach Comic Con next week. That should be good.
Well, That was a day with far more walking in the heat then I needed. But, all was good. I went to the Griffith to check it out, get there a bit later than I wanted but got some nice photos in. I told everyone I could if you are going there, do not drive, you will not find parking. While talking to one of the workers there she told me the lot was full at 5:30. There was also shuttle buses running from the Vermont/Sunset redline station, but the line was so long, and they kept getting stuck in traffic the only option I had was to hike. I made it there as the eclipse was just reaching it’s peak.
During that time walking up the hill, I was saying in a slightly crazed voice “the eclipse has started” and i got quite a few laughs out of that. As I got closer to the top, I started to say “the eclipse is near it’s peak” then started saying it’s at it’s peak. After I started to say it was ending, then while walking back down the hill, after it was all over I started to say “the eclipse has ended.” A friend there recorded much of that so I’m hoping the video will be online soon.
Despite how much time I spent trying to get there, I had a good time. It started off taking the gold line to the chinatown station, then walk to the closest entrance to Dodger Stadium, which was gated off. So, I had to walk another mile to reach a different entrance which was in fact open. Then it was a walk to the buses taking everyone to the start off location for the cars. Checked out each booth, took photos, and then went looking for a proper place to take photos. took till a few cars had gone down the hill but I had found something.
The location I found was a place that had some of red bull’s own filming crew, and ended up a good place to see some crashes. Had three happen in front of me. It was also rather close to the end of the track I felt lucky to see most of the cars, and there wasn’t many people in the place I was at. And after a car drove by, there was some shade near I can sit at till I hear the sound of the next one heading down the hill. Kind of a trumpet that was played over the speakers places along the track. After 61 cars, I had a long, yet entertaining day.
As for tomorrow, I’ll be putting my photos from the eclipse up.
The final day. I didn’t get as many photos here, but still quite a few at least. I didn’t say as long during the second day, but had plenty of laughs over all still. I had a really good weekend, and what made it better was seeing friends of mine that I didn’t expect. Would do again next year.
Well, At first I thought I didn’t take that many photos, turns out I got more then I thought. Sundays photos should be up tomorrow, but I also need to work on more of my video from politicon. This was my first time at ScareLA, and it’s the first time it was at the LA convention center. I had more laughs then I expected, and knew I would have plenty of them.
Anywho, check out what I have for saturday, hope they don’t disappoint.
SO, I got some of nice photos, Not really a lot, but there was some good stuff there. I also got some video of whackiness going on. Saw some people taken out of a panel, which i’ve heard claims saying they where antifa, others that they where communist, I don’t know for sure, but it was strange.
Then something else strange happened to me. I was walking by this one area, and there were some people together with some trump gear on and I guess some lady walked by and said something to them. One of them starts shouting at her, calls her a traitor and a baby killer. I just said to him “dude claim down.” then starts yelling at me to do so. I stood there confused, then him and his friends start calling me snowflake and long hair. It’s like he was trying to pick a fight with me. Really, Trump had brought out the worst in so many people, both for and against him.
Despite that moment of strange, I had a good weekend. Talked to a lot of people, shared ideas, laughed, it was a good time.
Because at politicon, there is only one party, and that is politicon.
My second day there, and was my last one. Had other things going on with myself while day 2 and 4 were going on. During the morning there wasn’t as much people there, but as the day went on the crowds definitely started building up. Didn’t get as many photos as the first day but still got plenty. This was my 10th year at Anime Expo, and to be honest, not sure I’ll be to interested in going next year. But, time will only tell.
Well, that was a day that I can tell plenty of people felt miserable. It was to bad to, because of the extra security coming in, and likely was because of what happened in Phoenix about two months ago. My 10th year there to so that felt it should have been a bit extra special. I was there for a good while, and got some nice shots.
