Gallifrey One ’15 Photos

After I was done with the Flashmob sunday, I heard there was also a convention going on at a nearby hotel, that I walked over a mile for in warmer weather then it should be for this time of year. Gallifrey One, which is a Doctor Who convention. Though I don’t actively watch the show, I have seen it from time to time and it’s interesting to say the least. I might want to actually try to sit down and start watching it properly. I was there shortly and it was the last day so I did have a chance to get a few photos in and what came out I’m happy with.

To bad it took me so long to finally load online.

Nuke The Fridge ’15

I don’t know how this event works entirely. I know it happens at Frank n’ Sons seemingly at least a few times a year. I went to take some photos of the cosplayers that would be around but got there to late because of getting on two of the wrong buses. Crappy day if you ask me.

No Pants Metro Ride ’15 Photos

That, was a good day. I was the ride captain for the Culver City group riding on the expo line. Basically my job was to help people get their passes, to make sure they get on the train, and answer any questions they had. I had a pretty big group with me so that was fun. After we all got on the train we then went to Union Station were all groups from each line converged. After being there for a half hour it was time to start heading to the red line for the final leg of our journey to Hollywood where we flooded the street with our pantsless glory. We then went to near by bar along hollywood blvd, Loaded, and had ourselves a nice little after party. By the time I left most of the people inside had their pants on.

While on my way back home I found a few other people waiting for the train back that had already repantsed by then, and so did I.

I have to say, that was a good first event for the new camera.

LA SantaCon ’14 Photos

Wow what a ride. We started off the day in Hollywood going to Cat & Fiddle, now sadly enough is going to have it’s last day and closing on the 15th. So if possible make a trip over while you can. And it has a nice outdoor eating area to. Right now they are looking for a new location so best of luck to them. The next location we went to was 3Dog Cantina, still in hollywood. It had some nice, big windows that were also open, so you can sit on the ledge just outside and talk to the people sitting right in front.

After hanging there awhile we went to the subway to the next place of interest, Barnsdall Art Park, where we had santa throwing frisbees at each other, and then the snow balls came. There was some other stuff going on there to with some of the santa, but I didn’t check that out since the snowball thing was going on, and I still had some good lighting outside. Next we went to Rockwell nearby. Had photos of myself and a few other people taken in a Photo Booth. Did not see that coming. One of the guys there should be getting them on his phone and putting them online so when I get them I might put them up here.

The last location I was at was The Continental. We were supposed to go to another spot but they wouldn’t allow people e to come in with bags or anything else as the such. Whatever. But before that a bunch of us walked around Pershing Square where many people there all wanted photos of us. Exciting. After many of the santas split off to different bars, I was having some trouble finding anything, and I was tired. I enjoyed my day, starting with the party at 11 and conquering till so late at night. Always a lot of fun.

Now I am ready to say goodbye to this year.

Bent-Con ’14 Photos

And my last convention of the year is now over. What was interesting was not just when the event started for the day, 12 noon, but when on late, 2am. It was fun becomes I’ve never been early to a con. Thought it was small, I did seem to notice there was quite the number of things going on, panels, that I went to two of them. There was also a stage set up a cellist, reading, other musical reformists, figure drawings, photoshoots, and striptease acts. Always something to keep everyone entertained. There was also a room that showed movies, and other with karaoke. I wanted to go up and sing Metallica, but, for some strange reason didn’t. They also had an area set up for board games. I was thinking, and hoping there would be consoles set up, but it’s still a small con so that still was rather popular.

I was there for day 2 and 3. on day 2 I did get a lot of stuff, but not so much on the last day because there wasn’t much else to get and I was only there for 3 hours. I had to take off early. Over all I did enjoy myself, and I wold go again next year. Perhaps I can convince other friends of mine to join in. Also, Retired Wonder Woman is awesome.

Now to wait for Santacon and for the year to end. This could take awhile.

Comikaze ’14 – Photos

After my night in West Hollywood getting rained out, I went out the next day for more at the LA Convention Center for Comikaze. I would of went down on the first day, friday but I wanted to get myself ready for the night first, and it would of been a hassle getting back to my place and then head back out again. I got there later then I wanted because my bus and train decided they wanted to be 30 minutes late, each, but none the less, I meet with a friend and headed down to see everything that is happening. I would definitely say it’s getting bigger and I kind of like that because of how interactive it seems to be with people.

Plus the giant stage in back were everyone comes up to to hold panels and the cosplay contests seems to help.

Also I was there as Timmy Turner, once again.

West Hollywood Halloween ’14 Photos

Finally, after that long wait they are online. I was also at Stan Lee’s Comikaze today which would explain why it took so long. I went down going as Green Lantern this year, something I’ve been wanting to do since 2010, before the movie came out with Ryan Renolds, figuring it knowing the movie is coming out the next year and with everyone knowing who that is and likely not thinking of it would work out. But was Jesus instead that year. Then Hesher, then Loki, then last year Timmy Turner which I’ve been wanting to do for even longer.

Before heading down I knew all to well that it was going to rain, but expected it to be light and not only for a short time, and I was right, for a while tip it started falling hard at around 11 and did so for a good while. We decided to take off a bit early because of it, mainly because of how much harder it would be to take photos. But over all it was a good night.

I just hope it doesn’t rain next year.
