Dino Andrade

So while at Comikaze last weekend, I noticed a familiar face who also very much remembered me from Comic Con ’09. Didn’t know I could be so memorable after 3 years from first meeting someone. Voice actor Dino Andrade, meeting with fans, signing stuff, and taking photos with them. But when I saw him at Comic Con before he was promoting his site SoulGeek which is a dating site for more nerd like people, and if you ask me thats a good idea. Any who, one of the things he was telling me about is he’s done some voice overs for some characters in the game World of Warcraft like the Gnome racial leader High Tinker Gelbin Mekkatorque. So then I was telling him about how I’m doing some experimentation in Photoshop with 3D models, and how I’ve figure out a way to export Warcraft models in a format I can open up in photoshop which in turn has some 3D tools to use in the program itself and wanted to see if I can pull this off. Take a photo of him and add Mekkatorque in almost as if they are in the photo together. I know, strange but it’s something neat to play around with. Still a lot to figure out with the 3D stuff, more so wonder how some of the polys look so hard edged on the face. Also need to figure out the alpha problem.

Comikaze ’12 – Day 2

So here they are, photos from the second and last day, took more this time around. How the day started off this time was I went up to the press booth and let them know that I had emailed them a few times asking about getting a press or pro pass but never heard from them. So they asked me a few questions and if I had a card just to make sure I was legit and got what I was after. Now, a long with taking more photos I really roamed around the exhibit hall a lot more and talked to the artists, actors, writers, vendors and such.

For example I saw The League of S.T.E.A.M. guys again from when I saw them at Comic Con in which I still haven’t seen the videos on the site but I should because it has one of the writers from Batman Beyond and Justice League, and I enjoyed those shows a lot. I also ran into someone I knew in Moorpark awhile back in the artist ally, selling some of her drawings and such which I’m not sure I’ve seen any of her work before till last weekend. I would say it’s all good. And there was Steven E. Gordon whose done work on X-Men: Evolution and long with a few other shows and movies I liked only to later find out he worked on a lot more stuff I liked. And lot of good art on his site along with some neat drawing tricks. And last I found this booth with fossils and replica of different animals like a Smilodon skull and Megalodon Tooth to help promote Jurassic Con and the Cooper Center Paleontology Lab. Come on, I like that kind of stuff to.

You know what, I had a lot more fun then I expected I would.

So about two months ago a friend of mine invited me to join in on on the 2nd Comikaze expo here in LA and I figured, “why not, sounds like fun.” The event was for only two days, Saturday and Sunday and it was was fun. Not a lot of people but I found it to be rather interactive between fans, artists and the guest celebrities. They also had this zombie Apocalypse Obstacle course set up that I didn’t do but heard was fun. Anywho, here is some video for that while I edit my photos.

007 Legends Art

While at Comic Con a guy that what I believe was the Activision booth gave this to me. I have no idea why so don’t ask but what is it is I guess some concept art for the new coming Bond game 007 Legends which I will not be able to play being I don’t use a Windows Computer nor do I have an Xbox or Playstation. Oh well, might as well share with you guys anyways. Still neat and cool of that guy. Sadly I have no idea what to do with it.

Now He’s in Columbus?

Remember the post I made about the pride protester here in LA and then in Chicago two weeks later? seems during the weekend between both events he was in Columbus, Ohio. He is in the trust jesus shirt near the far left end of the photo. I also have a name, Rubin Israel. This fat idiot is clearly well traveled and seems to be everywhere.

And it turns out he was outside the Convention Center during Comic Con.

Comic Con ’12

Alright so here is what happened. My sister was down in san diego for the con with her kid and on one of the days she wanted to go as the female trainer on Pokemon Black and White and all that was left she needed was the hat. It was suppose to be in the mail by tuesday but ended up coming in on friday, after they left. So I picked it up and headed down on saturday, met with them, gave up the hat and decided to hang around outside and take photos for sure knowing I would get some good stuff outside still. Didn’t take long for someone to be highly awesome and give me their pass that was good for the rest of the con. So I went in, and started taking a bunch of photos of what I thought were good costumes and trolled the protesters outside some. Then before the day ended I got some video of something very strange, which will be coming soon to watch out and took a few more photos and took off for the night. Also I walked by Ron Jeremy, didn’t really care to ask for a photo, he looked like he just wanted to take off.

The next day which was sadly also the last day I decided to go a little crazier getting more photos and find some people I knew that would of been there. I ended up finding the Newgrounds/Behemoth booth, found tom and talked to him shortly. I also found the i-mockery booth and talked to -rog- shortly and told him about something I’ve noticed was people hand out cards to each other all the time but rarely goto each others sites (I can be guilty of them myself). This problem needs to be fixed, more so on my end because I can use more people coming here. Anywho, went around, got some more photos, just before the exhibit hall closed I took off for home.

Oh, also I meet, Rich Arons, who has done some work on some of the cartoons I loved as a kid like Tiny Toons and Animaniacs and has a book out, Turbie the Turtle Duck, Check it out. Also I met one of the guys that did some work on Batman Beyond and Justice League who also works on a web series League of STEAM. I love shaking the hands of these people that have given us awesome stuff.

Interesting weekend that started off as a delivery.

So I was at Comic Con and…

I didn’t even know I was going to end up getting in. Mainly I was dropping something off and going to take photos of people outside the con and someone gave me their pass so I got in for 2 days free. Highly awesome there. So I’m about to start loading photos on my computer soon and I also have video, very strange video so wait for that. But for now webcam photo. Yes my computer has a webcam.

SantaCon ’11 photos

Alright, here they are, finally. So the day started off with me running a little later then I wanted to be, but I was determined to make it. Once I got to North Hollywood I hopped on the red line and quickly come to find some santas. They were dropping off on Hollywood but I was going to go to Downtown first to see if I can find anyone else there. What ended up happening was I helped this one girl I met heading over to take the train back to her town in San Bernardino County. Took some time of my plan but I can’t let her be totally lost on what to do. And with my help she ended up saving some money to so go me.

So I got off the subway to go look for some santas again and head back in to downtown with no luck. Went back to the subway again about found two more santas and we decided to head to Hollywood. Got off on Highland and found more santas and then walked over to Dillion’s on Vine. As we were walking over I saw a scientology stress test table and told them Hubbard died on psych drugs, hehehe, I’m so mean. So we got to Dillion’s and found lots of santas and all went crazy, it was great.

Next up was jump on the subway again and we all headed to union, again, and hung around Olvera St. Next trip was to the Angel City Brewing where so many other santas come to converge. Later on after it was time for me to head back home. It was a great day, hung with all kinds of great people and had all kinds of great laughs, I would totally do that again. lets just hope next timing will be better for me.

Where my Ho, ho, ho’s at?

ALright, it was a good day full a adventure, laughs, and all kinds of good times. I got a lot of photos in which I will have to look through and edit them (uuuggggghhhhhh) to post online. I have them on my computer now so that is the first step but I’ll work on them during sunday and hopefully will have them online soon. But for now I need sleep.
