Ventura County Pride ’24

Over a week ago a friend told me about this and asked if I planned on going. I was kind of against it because from the looks of it this is going to be an event taking place in a small park. It felt like it was going to be a lot like San Fernando Valley Pride about a month and a half ago. I was right. Though I do far better at bigger events like LA, Weho, and Long Beach pride, I still had a good time.

There was a bunch of venders there, one booth I got girl scout cookies from, which is always a nice score. Also stuff from some other sponsors. Also got a flyer from a local roller derby league about some games coming up. It’s unlikely I’ll be able to make it, and it’s been a long time since I’ve been at a game, but still thought it was fun. There was also some drag performances.

After the event ended for the day there was an after party at a nearby bar, Paddy’s. From there was some more drag performances, starting with the host Cooper the Queen, then Paradox, Mistress Niya, Hershii LiqCour-Jete from Drag Race, and Landon Cider from Dragula, which I’m pretty sure I should also watch.
