Politicon ’15 Photos

Alright, the first set are online. This was a two day event at the convention center starting on friday. It started kind of late in the day to, at 2 in the afternoon. How I found out about it was while listening to pandora and they had an ad play and one of the things that was mentioned was that there will be cosplayers. One I idea I thought of was the ex-presidents in the movie Point Break, because that would be funny. I’m sure there would of been other ideas to and seemed they did want some cosplayers to join and perhaps get them interested in politics which I don’t see as a bad thing.

Typically when at a con I go around all over the place to take photos, I think this is the first time I actually went into panels with some kind of interest. First thing I checked over, that I did’t know was going to be there was, The Art if Politics section with many political motivated art made by all kinds of people from a number of different views. No one was safe and I kind of liked that because it shows no bias. Then I went to a panel called, Mother, Mother, Mother. On it was the mothers of Michael Brown and Jordan Davis, both of which I got to hug and I enjoyed that because I felt they needed that for what they have gone through for over a year now.

After I went into Ballot Pong, held by See Political to also help explain the process in creating a ballot and getting it across. Also about how crazy some of them can be. There is some video coming of that, with another with me speaking and kind of bumbling. Not sure how that happened. Last was a panel on religious freedom with Clay Aiken on it who has been active in a political sense for some time now. After I kind of just wandered around and during the time saw the restroom signs put up. That was pretty good.

No, not a lot of photos, but I kind of felt there was a lot to talk about. If I can also find video of some panels I was at I’ll post those to along with mine.

Long Beach Comic Con ’15 – Photos

After a long ride going down the blue line because of work being down between two of the stations, causing me to be about an hour later then I had expected, I get down and conquered the day. It was hot outside, making me stay inside the convention center most of the day. their where cars parked in the walk way area in front of the building like the DeLorean from Back to the Future and a jeep from Jurassic Park. Also there was a big van outside with people handing out little Nesquik bottles. Oh that felt so good to during during such a day. Chloe Bennet from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. was there, and I got to hug Nicholas Brendon who was on Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

A lot of fun that day, now to wait for day 2 photos.

Geek Pride Aug ’15 – Photos

So yesterday was my birthday, and I went to the Dragonfly to join in for Geek Pride being held there that night. A friend who was hosting wanted me to join in and got me a table to sit at with any friends that joined. I spent most of my time walking around taking photos because well, it’s me. I had a lot of fun seeing everyone there and going slightly crazy. I ended up being a part of one burlesque dancers act, had a thong tossed at me, and even had a little cupcake given to me.

So much I didn’t expect, and enjoyed.

After black tie beach, I headed to Little Tokyo for another event I was invited to by the LA chapter of the USNC for UN Women to help promote gender equality. I was asked to take some photos for, I could of also did video but when I realized that it was at a point I was to late to record some of the speeches. The fact it was still kind of hot, and the amps weren’t very powerful would of also a bit of an issue. Everything came out well, and after people gathered in a bunch of different circles and had further discussion.

Yeah, I would say better then BTB this year.

Milian Block Party ’15

A few days ago Christina Milian posted an announcement on her page about a Block party she is doing at her store she recently opened up. Food, drinks, activities and there was also entertainment. A cat walk, DJ and other performers. I got there and it was a bit smaller then I had expected in some ways, but also more things going on in such a small space but didn’t feel to crowded. I talked to her real shortly and wanted to get a photo with Christina but the poor girl is being pulled all over the place because they were also recording for her reality show.

I left at about 4:30 and though it was nice, I was kind of disappointed about something go feel I was misled on. The announcement did say free food, drinks, activities, but in order to get to the food or drink you have to buy a wrist band. Though you also got you a raffle ticket, but I wasn’t interested in that. I don’t know perhaps Christina or her sister who I also talked will get back to me on that, they should have my info and know how to contact me. And I also hope they like the photos.

And if you happen to be in the area, be sure to check the store out.

Gettypede ’15 Photos

This time I was in the line. I did take a few photos but not to happy with them. Might of been because we started kind of late in the day. the sun was still out but there was so much shade in some places. then again it this did happen in the middle of summer and it would of been mad hot if we started in the afternoon. Also it was pretty short this year, and made me kind of sad to see it get smaller each time and as much as I and others try promoting it doesn’t seem to help. maybe we will have more luck next year when it is during the spring again.

And now I can say, I walked the line.

Anime Expo ’15 Photos

So, that was an entertaining ride. I started the day picking up something a friend borrowed for a cosplay she had planned on doing for another con at the begging of the year but didn’t fall through. Oh well. It was hot out, so getting inside felt rather nice. And the lines to pick up badges were given a lot of praise because of how fast they went by.

Pretty much one thing that bothered me the entire time was the fact I didn’t see many of my friends there, and not sure why. But on day one I took off a bit early, but during the time there, i got a nice bunch of photos. So behold.

And brace yourself for the rest that are coming.

Geek Pride ’15

After the party in West Hollywood sunday, I went to Hollywood to attend another event a friend was hosting that night at the Dragonfly, Geek Pride. There was a type of speed dating that went on, burlesque, DJ, cosplays, and other nerdy stuff of the likes. I didn’t stay to long and only got a few photos because I spent most of the time just having out with everyone there.

I was entertained, and if it happens again and I’m available, I might be down.
