Zoolander Gas Station Memorial

Earlier this week I heard about this on Beverly just a five minute walk west from Fairfax and made some time to head over thursday. Soon after I got there I found a friend of mine dressed as Mugatu and took some photos of the scene. They were also giving free iced coffee. After i was done I want to the grove nearby and to my surprise I discovered Samsung set a giant booth also promoting the movie. There you would do 3 different activities, first, take a selfie, make your best “blue steel,” then go on a catwalk and a short audio dub. I got a backpack, selfie stick and a print of my blue steel. While there I was also asked if I have a Samsung phone which I said I didn’t later on while on my way home I realized I in fact do. Wonder what other prize I might of got if I had known that. Oh well.

Is it to late to let them know?

LA No Pants Metro Ride ’16

Well, that was really good. As much as I have enjoyed in years past but this went really well. I was the ride captain for the Red Line starting off in North Hollywood. I give a little speech about whats is going on, where we are going and answered any questions given. Soon after we got on the train and headed over to Union Station. While on the line we met with the group coming from the Blue Line where both connect so it was nice to see them join on on the rest of the way.

After getting to Union we hung around for about a half hour and had a lot of people unsure of whats going on, but wanted photos of us anyways. After we started heading back down to the red line and then went to Hollywood and the train didn’t seem as crowded as expected. Ride went smoothly and when we got off on Highland we just headed over to Loaded from there. We had 3 Bands play for us while also there, without pants. It was wonderful to see acts such as ALIXCIA, Carnival of Futility, and Mick Greenwood play for us, without pants.

It was a wild day and something I look forward to everyone year.

Lightsaber Battle ’15 – Photos

After getting there much later then I wanted to, I think I got a night little batch of photos with what conditions I had to deal with. It was cold out but I also had my long coat on so that was really helpful. From what I understand this was done for the reason of setting a new record. Hope we got it, because we all know how awesome it would be to be involved in such a thing.

May the Force be with you.

Geek Pride – Dec ’15

It had kind of a Sailor Moon theme going on. I’ve never seen that anime anyways but decided to go down anyways. It was fun. Really can’t think of to much that happened. but it was also the birthday of a friend of mine there. We all sang for him. It’s kind of bothersome that I haven’t been out to much for awhile, but I’m glad I got to do this, can’t wait for the next one.

so for now, umm, Sailor Moon theme song.

Nerdbot Cosplay Gathering ’15

Not sure how often they do this, but I heard about it from a couple of friends. I figured even though I don’t have much interested going to cosplay gatherings I felt the need to check this one out since it wasn’t in Little Tokyo as some cosplays like to goto every weekend for some reason, and it’s kind of boring there. I was right to goto Griffith Park this time. There was more people there then I has expected and a BBQ was set up.

It took much longer to get there then I thought, I went further then I was supposed to and wondered in an area that wasn’t near where everyone was at. Luckily by the time I got there it didn’t peck yet so that made me feel better. Nice little thing to pop up before santacon next month, which I am of course excited about. I needed something since november tends to be rather dead.

Hopefully there will be more during the month, I’m staying tuned.

Comikaze ’15 – Photos

Oh man, Halloween weekend, so much going on in 2 days. More so, on the day of Halloween. The morning started off going to Stan Lee’s Comikaze running into so many cosplayers that I know and enjoy hanging with. this time more of the building was being used up. The years I have been there before just used the south hall, but this time they used a smaller portion of the south hall, but on the other hand also used the entire west hall.

My feet hurt a lot from walking around the place all day, but that wasn’t going to stop me from the next event later on that night, in West Hollywood. I’ll post those later.

But for now, photos from he first day.

Running of the Clowns ’15 – Photos

Well this went very excellently. We definitely had more people this year, and by far more runners in comparison to clowns. Despite that, all was good and was a lot of fun. I decided to keep my rollerblades at home this time because of how bothersome they were to get around last year.

Along with more people taking part of the event, I noticed a lot of people around waiting for us, taking either photos or video as everything went on. It’s like they knew we were coming. Then again, we had been talking about it for a wile and put up the planned route ahead of time so all is good.

Now that’s over, time to get ready for next weekends parties.

So this happened today. As we do every year we started in North Hollywood, took the red line and got off on Highland. We then walked to Vine and then back to Highland. Scared...
