Warcraft – Naga Tech Tree
And we are back with the newest installment of my fan series, Warcraft 3: Extreme…ly expanded upon next chapters of the game of the World of Warcraft story line that would be set up like the strategy game from before, if it was done that way instead of Blizzard making an MMO. And what would the tech trees look like, if I had anything to do with it, if you could play as even more races, because 4 wasn’t crazy enough as it is. At least for it’s time, because that was a pretty big game.
Human | Dwarf | Gnome | Draenei | Worgen | Orc | Tauren | Troll | Forsaken | Blood Elf | Goblin |
Kul Tiran | Dark Iron | Mechagnome | Allied Sub | Zandalari | Nightborne | Mag’har | Horde Sub |
Scourge | Legion | Naga | Old Gods | Twilight | Mawsworn | Pandaren | Tuskarr | Dracthyr | Broken | Vrykul |
Today is the Naga, first seen in the expansion for Warcraft 3: The Frozen Throne. The idea is when they were put in the game, they would be a sub-race only seen in the single player and there already is a mostly compete tree, so I’ll be slightly expanding that some with some of my own ideas based on what’s already in WoW. Let’s start things off. There already is a worker unit, and the combat units, which is already complete. There already is the tier 1 with the Mur’gul Reaver, the Snap Dragon as the ranged, and the tier 3 Myrmidon. But I wanted to add another, the Brute. I have in mind it will act something like the Mountain Giant from the Night Elf tree.
Next are the casters. The Siren is already in game, and is the lone caster for the Naga for what is already part of the set tree, so I’m adding to that another Mur’gul, which is also a creep in game, the Shadowcaster. But there will be some stat and ability changes. Plus with the new versions of the mur’gul models in reforged, makes it nicer. And though not trainable when you play as naga in the single player (in the Blood Elf) campaign, I’m also adding the Royal Guard to not only be a caster, but also a even more powerful combat unit compared to the tier 3. But some stat changes will likely be done to balance things out.
A siege and flying unit already exist in game, so good there, leaving last, the hero units. There already is the Sea Witch, a neutral hero in game, but in order to complete the tree we’ll need three more. The first is the Queen’s Guard, based a type of mob in game, but wanted a different name. The model file is call naga elite, or elite naga, I can’t remember but clearly a new name was needed. Next is the Warlord, just a powerful combat hero. And last, it’s a silly name, but I really like it, the Crusturion. The reason behind the name is because the model file in game is called the naga centaur. Really need a new name so I was looking for some ideas and I saw the name some place, Centurion. Put that and Crustacean together and here we are.
