Warcraft – Scourge Tech Tree

Haha, thought I was done huh? Of course there was going to be more of my own little fan series, Warcraft 3: The World of Warcraft Chronicles… Because I really liked the strategy game and always wondered what it would be like if the story kept going in this way. With the help of WoW Model Viewer And Wowhead’s dressing room to help create my concepts.

Human | Dwarf | Gnome | Draenei | WorgenOrc | Tauren | Troll | Forsaken | Blood Elf | Goblin
Scourge | Legion | Naga | Old GodsPandaren | Tuskarr | Dracthyr
Death Cultist

For today we have the Undead Scourge. I know, I know, “but Dan, isn’t the tech tree already complete? Do you really need to add more to it?” YES! But here is the thing, both Horde and Alliance have a number of trees that I created for each playable race, so I figured Scourge should have that too. But I’m going to post a more simplified version because there are already so many model files in WoW for different types of undead creatures. Now something I have in mind if something like this entire thing was made to be playable in Warcraft 3, I would set it up to be playable as two main campaigns. One for Horde, the other Alliance, and some mini campaigns for some of the enemy factions you fight against. The Scourge is one of them.

Death Shot
Darkmage

With the Scourge tree I would imagine there would be some interchangeability between the types of units in the style of the Zerg single player campaign in Starcraft 2 with the evolution missions. So with the tier 1 being the Ghoul, it could be replaced with a Geist. Or… something different also seen in WoW but with a slightly different look, the Death Cultist. It would be a rough equivalent of a Footman in the Human tree. Now it does say under the description for the undead some of its army does consist of damned moral men, which is talking about the Necromancers in game. This is another one of them, along with the ranged unit, the Death Shot, and the Darkmage to add another living caster to make up the Scourge forces. Then another unit like the Abomination could be exchanged with the Bone Golem or a caster can be replaced with anything else already a part of the MMO. There is a lot to choose from.

Death Mage
Tactician

Now most of the still living forces of the Scourge does consist of humans, but there are also Elves, but in the case of these two new ones are undead Elves known as the Darkfallen, and will both act as hero units. The Death Mage and the Tactician, along with the Dark Ranger, which is already a neutral hero in Warcraft 3. The Tactician is meant to act like the Rouge class in WoW. There would also be other new hero units, based on what is in WoW, like the Bone Wraith or the Mad Scientist.

And last, the Death Knights, and this one is a doozy. When Wrath of the Lich King came out, each playable race was able to create Death Knights. Now, if these concepts were actually put together and there is a Wrath campaign, some of these Death Knights, will join the Horde and Alliance, like what already happens in WoW. But there will still be those loyal to the Lich King. There already is a Human Death Knight in game so there is no need to make another. And I already made a Death Knight for the Forsaken tree so that would be included with this bunch too. Below are my concepts of Death Knights of the other races. Some gender changing would happen if mission calls of it.
