Warcraft – Tauren Tech Tree

Hello everyone, and welcome back to my series, What if? World of Warcraft was actually Warcraft 4 and each playable race in game was make to be there own playable race in a strategy game style, and using the WoW Model Viewer to put some concepts together in what I believe would be each set up. Today is the Tauren. First seen in Warcraft 3 as part of the Orcish Horde, they joined after the orcs helped save their people from the Centaur.

Brave

Starting things off, is the worker unit, that for the moment I’m just calling a Worker, because I’m at a blank and a thesaurus can only go so far. Maybe I should start looking for words in other languages? Next are the combat units, starting with the ranged unit, the Brave, which here I gave it a gun, but I think I’ll change that to a crossbow eventually. I have in mind they’ll be about as powerful as a crypt fiend. Then there is already a tier 3 unit with the Tauren that’s already seen in the orc tech tree, but with a new name, the Bluffwatcher.

Druid of the Saber
Cat Form

Now I’m sure some might say “but wait, shouldn’t there be a tier one unit? Yes! but this will be interesting since it’s going to be a tier 2, and a caster that I’m calling Druid of the Saber. It will have two forms, one a caster, which I’m not sure what spells it will have but one will act as a debuff, and the other a buff. I have in mind it will be about as powerful as a grunt, but when in cat from, they are roughly equal. As for the rest of the main caster units. There already is one with the Spirit Walker, so to add one more is the Dawnchaser, which is a name I saw in game and really liked it.

And like each tech tree, there are also siege and flying units. I have nothing for the siege, but am thinking of the possibility having a Ballista, since there is a model file in game. And then for the flying units, I think I want them to share with the Night Elf tech tree with the Chimaera and Faerie Dragon, but instead of a Hippogryph they will have in place the Wolfhawk.

Last, the hero units. The first I’m calling the Arch Druid, a lot like the Keeper of the Grove but with some of its own abilities. Then is the Plainsrunner. The name is from a tauren ability that was supposed to be in game but was taken out before the final version came out. It’s a ranged combat unit. Last is the Sunwalker, they are the paladins of the tauren. Or as some people have called it, a holy cow. I’m not kidding. Anyway, I hope anyone who see this finds my ideas interesting.
